The Eyes of Chopper 9

Many regular visitors to this post know I spend a great deal of my time flying around hunting for stories from the air aboard a news gathering ship called Chopper 9. I have posted many photos or frame grabs of some of the stories that we have been to. Well now from the makers of "Blogger" a handy new button on the posting tool has enabled me to post video.

I know what you are saying. "Hey Putz, people have been posting videos on their blogs for a long time."
Yes you are correct. Bloggers like Turdpolisher and BeFrank have been doing this for some time. But I didn't have the time or the inclination to search out how such a magical feat could be executed. Blogger has now made it easy for techno "dummies" like me.

And so I present to you, my faithful reader a treat. My first video entry to World Wide Murman. A little thing I cut together some months ago. A look from my camera aboard Chopper 9.

Enjoy

Way cool stuff. Especially like the backwards jet at the end. And the music got me all nostalgic for pastel colors and a three-day beard.

That shot was taken by my crewmate Pete Cline. It's an illusion. Pete was tracking the sunset as he was flying into YVR (Vancouver International) and as they were crossing the field heading to our helipad, the 747 flys through the shot. It was gold and it was the shot that inspired the music.

Glad you enjoyed it, hope to get the occasional story uploaded soon.

Cheers

I thought Global had a chopper out in Vancouver? What no shots of the competition?

Hi Izzy, if you look closely at the Video, the News 730 helo, that became "Global 1" about a month after that shot was taken.
The Global machine doesn't have any Global markings on it. The machine has only radio markings.

Hmm, that's odd of Global...

Anyways, love for there to be HD footage from Chopper 9, whether it's from an HDV camera or an upgraded FLIR Camera.
